COMMON PEOPLE weaves together six stories and over thirty characters to present a dramatic, humorous and sometimes magical tale of romance, crisis and adventure on one of London's luscious commons. With raw, funny and compelling performances from a talented ensemble of actors aged seven to seventy, COMMON PEOPLE touches on many of the issues affecting ordinary people today in a heartfelt, poignant and ultimately uplifting celebration of everyday humanity.

The movie takes us through the saga of the actor, Veljko Radisavljević, who has the impression that the entire universe has conspired against him.

Aroha depicts a young Māori chief's daughter who embraces the modernity of the Pākehā world (attending university in Wellington) while confronting her place with her own people (Te Arawa) and traditions at home. The NFU-produced dramatisation is didactic but largely sensitive in making Aroha's story represent contemporary Māori dilemmas (noted anthropologist Ernest Beaglehole was the cultural advisor). Watch out for some musical treats, including an instrumental version of classic Kiwi song, 'Blue Smoke' and a performance of the action song 'Me He Manu Rere'.

For centuries, the Ojibwe have lived alongside their brother Ma’iingan,(wolf). In February 2021, a brutal assault, a hunt on their wolf relative, stirs emotion and grief for Ma’iingan as they know what happens to him happens to them.

It’s Glastonbury Festival 1995. The Stone Roses pull out of their headline set after a mountain bike accident and Rod Stewart is unavailable. Last minute replacements, Pulp, take to the stage to face 80,000 people. They deliver a set ‘regarded as one of the best in the festival’s history’ climaxing with the era-defining song, Common People, and in the process catapult themselves to the forefront of the Britpop movement – an achievement that 12 years earlier seemed like an impossible dream.

Nothing except a gang of Geordie criminals who are using a comic company to launder their dirty money. Tony is drafted by the police to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. Aided by his trusty geek sidekicks, Rick and Keith, Tony must defy the odds if he is to become a real life hero.
